School Bus Fight
ok ... I said I would wait until Tuesday to start .. but this is too good...
Maybe you have seen the fight on the school bus in Gilbert, Arizona between a student and a bus driver. As of Monday I couldn't find anything that told me whether charges were filed, but police have recommended the driver, the student and the driver's daughter, and another student have charges filed against them.
Apparently, a bus driver exchanged words with a student who didn't normally ride her bus. The girl attempted to leave the bus and as you can imagine, the driver was not allowed to let her exit (according to district policy).
What do you think? Who is at fault?
***WARNING***
There is some explicit language in this video, much less than I hear when visiting high school campuses around the country, however.

This is pretty lame. Didn't that girl notice the back door on the bus? She could could have run out that way instead of holding everyone up. And what about the county policy? What's up with that?! What a strange, messed up world we live in...
I think they were both at fault.
The bus driver could have handled the situation better and the student could have been more mature and respectful.
You're right she could have run but she also could been more mature about it. The county policy was no doubt made to help insure the safety of the kids. So the bus driver could have calmly explained that she was not allowed by law to let her off.
Welcome to America... The land of religious "Freedom." The opportunity to kick God to the curb and do as we please. The days of sowing are about over; let the reaping begin....
Lame.
If you are going to fight-- (and get charged with assault as well!) you should at least throw a decent punch. And remember to use your knees and elbows.
I don't know about you guys, but where I live people get kicked off the bus for cussing their heads off.
How old is that girl, 10?? She really made a fool of herself. I feel sorry for bus drivers, they have a difficult job. The driver could have handled the situation better, I think everyone agrees.
unfortunately, this is representative of what is going on across the nation. Kids are becoming less and less respectful and the "School Bus Incident" is just another illustration of PARENTS not raising their children to respect adults. Kids do not say thank you anymore, do not hold doors anymore, and certainly do not allow the elderly or women to have a seat on public transportation. The way kids are becoming makes me frightened to have my own. If I would even have thought of talking or acting that way towards another adult, I would still be grounded and I havent been fifteen, as her excuse states, for 14 years now.
The entire time I watched the video, I wondered why an administrator didn't come to her rescue much sooner. You could hear her on the walkie talkie and I'm sure she must have been asking for help. Bus drivers are just that, bus drivers. Administrators must provide relief in situations like that.
WOW!
I have to say that I completely disagree with most of the comments. As a parent, I do not feel one bit bad for the bus driver. She handled herself as immaturely as the teen. If there was a reason that she couldn't let her off the bus, she should have told her why--she talked "down" to the girl and starting belittleing her in front of all those students. Shame on her!!! The teen did nothing more than react (albeit, disrespectful) but very typical of todays society. She should have never laid a hand on her-let her get off the bus, and t hen call the authorities to let them know that a student got off. PATHETIC!!!
It's obviously a twisted situation from the start. The bus driver may not have been allowed to let the girl off the bus, but school faculty know the rules when it comes to touching students. The driver was the adult in the situation and should have handled it a lot better. Yes, the student was wrong in what she did; but the driver crossed the line big-time.
I was a bus driver for a year. According to our district policy, a child cannot get off at any location other than their own home without a note, the bus driver can be fired for this.. while I am not defending the bus driver's behavior, I will agree with the person further above who said the root of the problem is that the girl had no respect toward the adult. I also agree with another person from above that said, let the girl get off and then call the authorities. That would have freed the bus driver from blame. With video proof of the girl who was out of control there would be no way the driver could have been blamed for letting the girl off the bus. I don't know what happened from start to finish, besides what is in the sketchy video, so I really can't comment past the fact that the girl was completely disrespectful and the driver didn't handle the situation as I would have and simply put the girl off the bus and radioed the school.
Ok, I didn't get a chance to see the video (you-tube almost kills my cpu's speed) but I do not agree with that all of the youth in today's world are getting less and less respectful towards adults. there may be some of us that are idiodic and pig-headed at times but not every one of us hapens to be that way (ps, I'm a youth as well). I'm (just for the heck of it) going to turn this arguement around a little. Kids look up to adults and what quite often they'll see: adults smoking, drinking, writing songs about always getting in trouble with the law, and fighting (think of those annoying shows like "cops" and wrestling) and then getting all the attention (and what do little kids love?) so even though alot of us are starting to get immature, it's partially because of what they see adults doing. (also this isn't nearly as bad as what happened up here in Minnesota. We had a minivan fly and crush the side of a school bus which then tipped over onto a truck, killing 4 kids. Just a thought...)
That is just plain messed up. Something like this just shouldn't happen. If the girl was never supposed to be on the bus then the bus driver should have never left school with her on the bus. My mom is a teacher and legally i think teachers can not teacher their own children. Shouldn't this apply for bus drivers as well?
the bus driver in my opinion is at fault. :( She is the one who started the whole thing and aggravated the fight. She asked the girl what other irde she had to school, and if she should get a different way to school. However the girl stayed calm until near the end. She was VERY disrespectful, but if i was in her situation, i know i could not have resisted from beating the poo out of that driver. Oh and the girl who threw herself into that situation about her mom and the cell phone.... ahhhhhhhh this whole thing really upsets me. Why cant we all just get along.
i think theyre both at fault but didnt the bus driver pretty much ask her to get off the bus in the first place?? And I totally understand that the girl was being rude and disrespectful but the driver should have just let the girl off instead of taking the phone and getting in a fight with the girl. There were plenty of issues on both sides of this though.
