Okay, even this one is a bit gross for me, but something unusual typically helps making a strong impression.
When having friends over, I often try to be creative in my manner of presentation. In my opinion, nothing is better than chips and dip to get a conversation started -- especially when served in a human skull.
What you'll need:
Hop on down to your local Toy's R Us ® and start searching through the science toys. It is a place I'm sure you never knew existed before. You'll want to find yourself a model of the human skull (mine cost me about ten bucks).
Put the skull together -- you'll need half an hour to do this right (if you use the instructions). Inside the cranium (where a brain would go) place a plastic liner (bag) and fill with salsa. Place skull on a platter with chips. When ready to serve, simply remove skull cap and voila!

For those even more adventurous, you can build up a "flesh" like coating onto the skull with bean dip. If you are any good, you can even shape the face to look like the guest of honor or perhaps a favorite celebrity. As guests enjoy the dip, they begin revealing the skull support underneath. Martha Stewart ala' Dr. Dare!
While this may seem morbid (and it is) we all have got to realize that someday we are going to die. Those who have put their trust in Christ, will only die physically. Those who refuse to trust in Christ's death on the cross as payment for their sin, will die physically and spiritually.
Prov. 3:5 -8
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
Hopefully, this unusual serving suggestion will remind you to trust in the Lord for your life. While chips, salsa, and bean dip may bring some nourishment to your bones, Fearing the Lord and shunning evil will do so much more.
Doing what is righteous preserves our lives. Evil causes us to decay -- physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Prov. 10:7
The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
Don't be like your serving dish skull, preserve your life by living as Christ did in righteousness and truth!
